POSITION SUMMARY:

Are you looking for long-term career with an organization? Are you energetic, focused, determined, and dedicated? Leader Tech Inc., a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is currently recruiting a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for the Shipping Department at our facility in Tampa, FL.

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for packing and packaging by hand a wide variety of products and materials to meet customer requirements. This position is also responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, while maintaining records and reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive materials and product, inspect it, and enter it into the SysPro.

  • Load materials and products according to designated shipping requirements.

  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.

  • Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met.

  • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.

  • Mark and label containers, tag, or products.

  • Remove completed or defective products or materials.

  • Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools.

  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.

  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

  • Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.

  • Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.

  • Assist with reports of defective materials or questionable conditions to find a timely solution.

  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.

  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms and warehouse.

  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in applicable locations.

  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

  • Receive and count stock items, and record data using ERP system.

  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, or other labeling equipment.


REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, SysPro, Starship experience.

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools.

  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions.

  • Must be able to communicate (verbally and written) in English.

  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Must be able to take direction.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • One to three years of experience desired in a manufacturing environment.

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light to moderate physical effort required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility
