Job Description
Overview

$17/hour Per Mar Security is looking for qualified candidates for gate Security Officers in a home improvement store setting. The best candidates will be comfortable working independently. You are detail oreinted and will have basic technology skills including the ability to operate a tablet.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to obtain a WI Private Security License*
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to operate a gate and check vehicles in all weather conditions
  • Must pass background check
  • Must pass drug screen on-site at time of hire

*Per WI Security License Application Requirements:

Convictions and Pending Charges (Form #2254) - All applicants will be required to answer questions on the application form about convictions of any crime, other violations and pending charges in Wisconsin or any other state. The Department will obtain a state and federal criminal records search on all applicants. If any applicant was ever convicted of a felony in Wisconsin or any other state and not pardoned, the applicant's application will be denied. There are no exceptions. If an applicant has been convicted of one or more misdemeanor or other violations or has pending charges, and if the Department determines that the crimes or violations are substantially related to the practice of a private detective, the Department will not grant a license until it has received sufficient information to determine whether the license should be granted, denied, or limited. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide complete information to the Department. Applications are deemed complete after submission of all relevant background information by the applicant. A certified copy of the police report, criminal complaint, and judgment of conviction is required for each conviction. IF AN APPLICANT WAS EVER CONVICTED OF A FELONY IN WISCONSIN OR ANY OTHER STATE AND NOT PARDONED, THE APPLICANT'S APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Job Skills / Requirements

Position Details/Specifics:

$17.00/hour

Available Shifts:

Split Shift (28 hours): Fri/Sat (1400-2200), Sun (0600-1300), Monday (0455-1400)

Full Time 2nd Shift (40 hours): Sun-Thur (1400-2200, Sun start time is 1300)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend gate and provide access control for customers coming in and out of the back lot of the facility
  • Check accuracy of orders picked up as customers leave the facility
  • Thoroughly examine vehicles as they enter the premises and make note of existing items within vehicles
  • Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
  • Twice per shift, walk the yard and report any suspicious activities or criminal acts
  • Address persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
  • Request emergency personnel for high risk situations
