Scope: Directly support the administration and oversight of the Training Academy Program as it evolves to meet the needs of client groups and stakeholders. 

This is located in Beltsville and will work with two (2) tenured staff; this is a combination of an administrative/registrar and project manager role. This position works with registering students for the academy, overseeing billing for classes ( these are normally referred by employers and are currently working on construction sites – looking to get their journey license ) They hold classes Monday through Thursday from 5PM-8PM as the students work full time  ( anticipates 506 students will complete journey  training this year ) – may need to be somewhat flexible to stay in case an instructor does not show up . Normal hours are 8AM-5PM ( they need to be flexible to stay if needed)  – Fridays they usually work 8AM-12:30PM. Will consider an admin who has worked on a construction site and worked their way up. There is some travel to a few remote classrooms (all are in the DC area) to audit the classes and give performance reviews on instructors. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate instructors in classroom settings and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Assist with database software and maintain accurate class and student records.
  • Support the development and pilot of supplementary curriculum related to construction or safety training.
  • Participate in class coverage when needed and requested by the Academy Manager.
  • Analyze and recommend modifications to training processes to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Assist in the administration and oversight of Registered Training Programs.
  • Conduct audits of off-site training locations to ensure program compliance.

Additional Duties:

  • Participate in professional development to enhance skills and career advancement.
  • Assist with Academy event preparation, instructor gatherings, and ceremonies as needed.
  • Monitor online learning sessions to refine virtual education processes.

Supervision Received: Operate under the supervision of the Academy Manager and Director of Education with varying degrees of direct supervision.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a construction-related field.
  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and online conferencing platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Requirements: Must possess reliable transportation for local travel (approximately 20% of the time).

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Certifications related to education or the Construction Industry.
  • Familiarity with construction education applications.
  • Experience teaching adult learners in a vocational curriculum.
  • Direct hands-on experience in a standard construction trade.
