Inova Fairfax Medical Campus has a great full-time Mental Health Technician Coordinator opportunity.
The Mental Health Technician Coordinator assists in the delivery of direct patient care in a safe, therapeutic, and holistic manner. Collaborates with care team members to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care to meet individualized patient care outcomes. Develops a plan to meet professional development needs, to improve work performance and provides administrative support to facilitate operations of the clinic/department.
This role is a full-time rotating night shift position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support by answering phones, transcribing orders, and maintaining charts.
- Provides basic triage of patients, registers patients, takes vital signs and provides information on status.
- Communicates abnormal values and clinical changes to the appropriate staff member within 15 minutes.
- Registers patients for emergency and outpatient services while ensuring complete and accurate information is obtained.
- Schedules appointments in automated scheduling system. Makes copies, sends/receives faxes and opens/distributes mail.
- Reinforces transition/discharge teaching and home care skills. Utilizes the Healthcare Event Form to report variances in practice.
- Communicates and collaborates with care team members to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care to meet individualized patient care outcomes.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- One (1) year of relevant experience.
Education:
- High School or GED
- Bachelor's degree - related field preferred
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
