Summary of Position:

The Director of Financial Reporting and SOX Compliance will oversee the SEC reporting process for interim and annual SEC reports including preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and Proxy. The Director will manage the design of internal controls and ensure SOX documentation (key risks and related controls, policies & procedures and other internal control documentation) is complete and up to date. They will coordinate with internal and external auditors and process owners to ensure collaborative execution of the annual evaluation of ICFR.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all facets of SEC reporting including Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K and Proxy;
  • Manages the compilation and analysis of all supporting financial and non-financial information underlying the financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A;
  • Collaborates with and provides support to external auditors for financial statement audits and reviews;
  • Ensures financial statement risks are appropriately identified and documented, controls are designed to mitigate related risk, and controls are operating effectively;
  • Continually assesses the company's ICFR and implements changes to promote efficiency and improve controls;
  • Develops and mentors staff and educates all process owners on effective controls documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Other Credentials

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field;
  • CPA preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience;
  • Combination of Big 4 and public company experience in a rigorous US GAAP and SEC compliant environment preferred;
  • Experience with SEC filings and Sarbanes Oxley 404 compliance;
  • Experience in leading and managing staff, including providing performance feedback and mentoring.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with XBRL tagging and financial software systems such as Workiva;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and to build relationships at all levels within the organization;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and thrive in a challenging environment with strong multi-tasking, analytical and decision making skills;
  • Critical thinking self-starter with strong leadership and project management capabilities;
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to proactively problem-solve, identify, advocate for, and execute improvements.
