Inova Health System's Fairfax Hospital is looking for an Interventional Radiology Technician to join our team supporting Interventional Radiology. This role is Monday - Friday (4) 10-hour shifts. 1-2 call shifts per week and one call weekend per month. Sign-on Bonus & Relocation are available for those eligible.

The Interventional Radiology Technician 2

The Interventional Radiology Technician 2 provides high-quality imaging using various modalities such as neurovascular and endovascular angiography examinations. Collaborates with teams to collect data pre/post-procedure and prepare patients for procedures in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (CVIR). Safely and competently operates all radiographic, processing, and inventory equipment in CVIR. Acts as a Liaison between physician, family, and other interdepartmental units. Participates with teams in unit assignment quality assurance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively utilizes Inova Health System Inventory Management systems.
  • Assists RNs to accurately explain procedures to patients and families to ease anxiety.
  • Troubleshoots equipment effectively and places service calls to Biomedical when necessary.
  • Anticipates procedure flow and works with other team members to produce the highest quality care.
  • Provides a safe environment and identifies hazards immediately. Follows unit protocols to take corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

  • Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) and American Registered Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiovascular (CV) or Cardiovascular Interventional(CI)
  • Licensure - Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Radiologic Technologist is required only if the position is located in a free-standing center not affiliated with an Inova Health System Hospital.
  • Experience - One year of work experience as a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Education -Vocational/Technical in the area of study in Radiologic Technology; Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography; Associate or higher degree preferred.
