AMERICAN SYSTEMS is on the hunt for an experiencedArtificial Intelligence Engineer (SME)with expertise in mitigation best practices of AI bias to support our customer in the Washington DC area.

As anArtificial Intelligence Engineer (SME), you will:

• Provide strategic advice and support on advanced AI / ML concepts, systems, technologies, and initiatives, to support DHS CBP's mission needs.
• Develop and coordinate recommendations, concepts, and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies and AI bias mitigation best practices.

Responsibilities of anArtificial Intelligence Engineer (SME):

• Designand developscalable solutions using AI tools and machine-learning models.
• Performresearch and testing to develop machine learning algorithms and predictive models.
• Utilizebig data computation and storage tools to create prototypes and datasets.
• Develop strategies for AI Bias analysis and develop test procedures to mitigate bias in accordance with DHS/CBP AI policies and directives.
• Conductmodel training and evaluation; integrate, test, tune, and monitorsolutions.
• Participate in DHS/CBP AI working groups to be informed of the latest policies and directives and emerging AI tools.

• Mustbe a U.S. Citizen
• CBP BI or SSBI (Top Secret clearance)or DHS ClearanceREQUIRED
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM fieldand 15+ years of experience; or HS Diploma and 21+ years of experience.
• Proficient with multiple AI programming in Python, Java, or R and machine learning frameworks like Spark, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Must have practical experience and project management knowledge necessary to manage large and complex program requirements and initiatives throughout OA and CBP.
