Job Description

As a talented and motivated professional, you will play an integral role on Intelsat's Program and Product Development organization. The Senior Program Manager leads all aspects of the Program Management Lifecycle with focus on maintaining compliance to the Intelsat PMO methodology, standards, and requirements.

What you will do

  • Successfully manage multiple concurrent programs varying in size and complexity, while rapidly adjusting to changes in priorities, either in support of product development, or Government customers. Execute program requirements, ensuring delivery of program commitments, by leading cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations/Manufacturing, Contracts, Finance, and Security. Manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of project portfolio through all phases of project lifecycle from inception to closeout.
  • Work closely with BD leads and Sales to identify market opportunities, benchmark competitive offerings, and implement Market Development strategies. Participate in the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract. Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
  • Act as primary customer contact for project/task order activities, leading project review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Provide clarity on program objectives, ensure that roles and responsibilities are well understood and address any conflict in a timely manner, with minimal direction and assistance from management. Anticipate program risks and issues and work to provide resolutions which ensure that stakeholder expectations are set appropriately. Develop a performance measurements framework and facilitate feedback system to team members on issues such as customer service, communication, and technical skills, in order to enhance the quality of support delivered.
  • Successfully partner with Product Management and cross-functional teams to drive the development and execution of new product concepts across Intelsat's functional areas and 3rd party technology and business partners. Apply business acumen to formulate practical and effective program management approaches to ensure new products are delivered to market in an expedited manner to maximize revenue streams.
  • Apply formal change management practices that ensure that programs are baselined at kickoff and all changes are thoroughly reviewed for justification, impact to the program and have received appropriate approvals.
  • Act as a liaison, both internally and externally, to support the development and management of key initiatives.
  • Be a Program Management subject matter expert (SME) and establish working relationships with cross-functional teams throughout the company.

Your required experience/skills

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain Top Secret Security Clearance, with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or STEM, with a minimum of 10 years' experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers.
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either a project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
  • Experience leading large, dynamic programs and projects with cross-functional, matrixed resources, working in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with Agile based development frameworks, (SAFe Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, etc.), collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Miro) and/or quality/services frameworks (ITIL, ISO 9000/1)
  • Proven problem-solving skills to anticipate the risks of non-performance and incorporate prevention and remediation measures within the implementation plan
  • Fluency with MS Office tools, Visio, MS Project

  • Manage conflict resolution using strong negotiation ability, influence, and professionalism.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Certifications in program management (PMI), Scrum, SAFe
  • Experience with telecommunications, satellite communications or other related managed services.
