We are looking for a Senior Bridge Team Leader for our Grand Rapids, Michigan Office, supported by local staff and a deep, national team of structural engineers. MM holds the critical MDOT pre-qualifications in bridge design and complementary design tasks with on-going projects and decades of completed contracts. Join our Project Team to establish our local presence. You will work alongside experienced roadway Project Manager to lead bridge design efforts, perform engineering calculations, generate drawings, and other technical duties. MM offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule and willing to discuss fully remote arrangement for candidates with Michigan presence and design experience.

Qualifications

As a Senior Bridge Engineer you will:

  • Lead and coordinate structural design efforts on multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Manage the work of engineers and technicians assigned to the project.
  • Have active role in project planning, development of design approaches, and monitoring project schedule and budget hours.
  • Perform quality control of design deliverables.
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff.
  • Be involved in marketing or presenting to clients.

To qualify, you should be a collaborative, positive, high-energy person excited about the challenge of joining a growing team, and bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, a Master's Degree is a plus.
  • 7 to 15 years of engineering experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Professional Engineering licensure with ability to obtain licensure/reciprocity in MI.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical skills of bridge analysis, design, rehabilitation, detailing and plan production.
  • Knowledge of MDOT QA/QC policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of OpenBridge Modeler and Microstation.
