Position Highlights

The Brain Imaging, Behavior & Aging Lab in the Department of Psychology conducts research studies using neuroimaging techniques and neuropsychological measures to understand the effects of aging and Alzheimer's disease on the brain and cognition. The neuroimaging methods include structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diffusion tensor imaging, MR perfusion, and positron emission tomography (PET).

The Research Technician II is responsible for assisting in the recruitment of subjects and the acquisition and analysis of project data, including for intervention trials. The Research Technician II works with other research staff to ensure high levels of quality assurance in data collection for various studies that includes neuropsychological testing, clinical rating scales, measures of aerobic fitness, non-pharmacological interventions, and other health related measures.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct and guide others in procedures for intervention trials and maintain study equipment
  • Recruit participants, conduct structured interviews and screenings, and schedule participant appointments
  • Administer neuropsychological tests to study participants, score test results, and perform neuroimaging acquisition.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of data, collect and organize research data, maintain study databases, and provide routine administrative support to research projects
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with older adults and/or neurological patients.
  • Experience administering neuropsychological tests.
  • Experience working in teams and collaborating with peers
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
