Position Overview:

The Entry Level Transportation Engineer works on transportation engineering and planning projects ensuring delivery of high-quality work products and execution of production operations. The position applies expertise to preparation and delivery of plans, designs, documents, and specifications as well as limited consultation to clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produces designs which may include highway design including horizontal and vertical geometry design, cross section design, stormwater collection and management facilities design, erosion control design and maintenance of traffic design.
  • Produces technical letters/reports such as design memorandums and calculation books.
  • Produces permitting applications for the client agencies as well as state and federal permitting agencies.
  • Performs field reviews.
  • Identifies, develops and implements technical tools, techniques, software, materials and processes to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Actively contributes ideas, expertise and recommendations based upon industry knowledge.
  • Assists the Project Manager and participates in client, agency, and consultant meetings.
  • Travels locally to client, consultant, job site, agency and work locations, as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, related field or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
  • EI certification is preferred.
