Overview

AIR's Methods of Synthesis and Integration Center (MOSAIC) seeks a Researcher with a background in qualitative and quantitative methods, specifically in the method of evidence synthesis and is passionate about the application and methods of synthesis. As a leader in the synthesis space, MOSAIC team members work across a wide variety of project spanning AIR's Divisions. MOSAIC staff also support the recently launched MetaReviewer, an equity-driven, collaboration-minded tool for conducting evidence syntheses.

This position has the flexibility to be located remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:

    Contribute to ongoing evidence synthesis projects by conducting systematic literature reviews, screening studies, or extracting information from studies
  • Create products, functionality requirements, and testing procedures for the evidence synthesis tool MetaReviewer
  • Review studies using the What Works Clearinghouse Version 5.0 Standards
  • Analyze, interpret, and report on complex quantitative data using appropriate statistical and/or psychometric methods (multiple linear regression, HLM, Structural Equation Modeling, IRT, etc.)
  • Contribute substantively, thoughtfully, and creatively to the conceptualization and design of synthesis studies, including research proposals in response to funder requests or for grant competitions
  • Write reports, briefs, proposals and other documents that are clear, concise, thoughtful and contribute substantively to the field
  • Manage or lead projects or research tasks, with assumption of greater responsibility over time
Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in education, economics, sociology, public policy or other related field, or Master's degree with 3-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working on evidence syntheses or related projects
  • Certified in What Works Clearinghouse Version 4.1 or 5.0 or be certified within 6 months of starting the position
  • Proficient in Stata, R, or other statistical software is preferred but not required
  • Open to learning new statistical tools as required by projects
  • Experience managing the details of research projects and leading small teams

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment
  • Able to lead synthesis project or proposals immediately
  • Able to apply advanced statistical methods and communicate effectively about these methods to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting
  • Strong organizational with the ability to produce concise, high-level summaries and briefings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds

Disclosures:

This position is open to U.S. citizens only. Upon hire, incumbent will be required to obtain clearance through the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) system.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

AIR's Total Rewards Program, is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $85,000-$115,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
