Job Description

The Procurement Director will work as an integral part of the procurement team, responsible for conducting and managing supplier/manufacturer sourcing and contracting of products and services for the assigned country and region. Negotiate with national, regional, and local manufacturers and distributors across multiple food, non-food, and services categories to drive product cost savings, financial growth, and innovation.

  • Remote with approximately 35% travel within the US and Canada (Ideally residing in Ontario, in proximity of a major airport)

Essential Functions

  • Develop, manage, and direct sourcing activities in the Canadian marketplace related to improving bottom line results for the Company resulting in net product cost savings and programs. May include preparing RFI's and RFPs based on stakeholder and company requirements to evaluate supplier pricing and offerings. Effectively manage RFx and internal contract resources. In all cases, transfer internal knowledge to other team members as appropriate in support of the procurement function's growth and scale.
  • Reviews contracts, terms, and service level agreements, working within the team to plan and coordinate timely and accurate inventory and equipment delivery, installations, upgrades, changes, etc.
  • Negotiate with national, regional, and local manufacturers and distributors across multiple food, non-food, and services categories.
  • Establish programs with vertically integrated manufacturers, suppliers, and Foodservice GPO's.
  • Collaborate and interact cross-departmental to include Culinary, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) preferred in supply chain management, business, economics, or related field.
  • Minimum (7+) years of successful foodservice contracting experience in multiple food categories in the Canadian marketplace. Must have demonstrated experience delivering results in a similar position, preferably in a large, enterprise level hospitality, food service/food and beverage or airport industry.
  • Strong proven foodservice negotiating skills and category management experience. Ability to establish strong business relationships directly with the procurement team and other senior members (i.e., VPs, Directors, Senior Contracting Managers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience successfully interacting with contracting, operations, culinary, and marketing departments to achieve positive strategic business outcomes (i.e., KPI, P&L, etc.) demonstrating strong business acumen.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively and timely complete assigned tasks and projects as assigned. Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change.
  • Intermediate to advanced level technical competence and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, etc.)
