Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)for our outpatient orthopedic center in Silver Spring MD

NovaCare's community-oriented outpatient orthopedic center in Silver Spring, Maryland is looking for a compassionate, caring and driven licensed physical therapist assistant (PTA) to provide exceptional patient care to patients of all ages and abilities.

This is a full time 40 hour weekday opportunity. Treating weekdays which will include two evenings treating until 700PM with last patient scheduled an hour prior. Specialty services include sports, industrial, neuro, vestibular and oncology on top of general ortho.

Our Silver Spring OP location is less than a five minute walk from the Metro. This is a recently expanded center with open gym floor plan that includes private treat rooms and windows spanning the entire space. We have a variety of high end equipment ready for progressive and likeminded clinicians excited to help their diverse community get back to what they enjoy most.

New graduates WELCOME to apply, you must have your Maryland PTA license to begin. We have a large supportive clinical team able to offer mentorship for a recent graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act.
  • Possesses training and education which allows him/her to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out prescribed treatment program.
  • Implements, with minimal supervision, high quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers and facilities in accordance with the principals and practices of physical therapy and with Select Medical policies and procedures.
  • Maintains positive level of interaction with facilities and clients. Enhances and expands client relations with facilities and their staff.
Qualifications
  • A valid state license (where applicable), registration or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant upon graduation from an approved curriculum for Physical Therapist Assistants, and having passed a national examination for Physical Therapist Assistants certified by the CAPTE.
  • State license and/or certification must be valid in the state in which the individual will practice.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
