DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of professionals who are engaged in various aspects of workforce development programs. This includes tasks such as planning, analyzing, developing, implementing, and evaluating these programs. You will also be tasked with analyzing incoming information and needs, establishing priorities, and providing guidance to your staff on field contacts and the application of workforce development laws, regulations, and policies. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing correspondence that will be signed by higher-level officials. You will work closely with the Information Technology staff to coordinate the provision of technology support and system enhancements, particularly in relation to workforce development record keeping, reporting requirements, and performance standards. As a supervisor, you will also oversee and coordinate the training of your staff and workforce development partners. You will serve as a liaison with other agencies involved in workforce development initiatives and policy development, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. It will be your responsibility to ensure that technical assistance guides, workforce information notices, and workforce guidance letters are developed and maintained. Finally, you will perform the full range of supervisory duties, ensuring the smooth operation of your team and the successful implementation of workforce development programs.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up with one day a month in office and predetermined in person bureau/Unit meetings or trainings or other reasons as operationally necessary. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Must report to the office as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Workforce Development Analyst 2; or
  • Three years of experience in performing technical work in a workforce development program, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
