The position supports our Supportive Residential Services program. As a Behavioral Health Specialist II, you will be a part of a team of diverse professionals who provide case management, crisis intervention, and support services. You may provide therapy if licensed or license eligible. Completes Medicaid and other billing documentation and manages a caseload which includes adults with serious mental illness (SMI) and co-occurring disorders (including substance use and intellectual disabilities); provides clinical assessments; and performs treatment planning and community integration activities.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday business hours with the ability to work at least one evening per week. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable working independently with individuals in the community. The position is with the Supportive Housing Program (SHP) located in Reston, VA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, counseling, or a related field, plus 1,500 hours of clinical experience;
OR a bachelor's degree and a valid QMHP certification plus 1,500 hours of clinical experience;
OR a master's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, counseling, or a related field plus 500 hours of clinical experience.
