Job Description

Jefferson Consulting Group is seeking a Business Development Manager to work within Jefferson's Growth Office and provide support, as needed, for Jefferson Business Consulting clients.

This role will be hybrid. The position is expected to be in the Washington, DC area with the ability to attend meetings and conferences in-person.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall Business Development Management
    1. Serve as a hub within the Growth Office to support business development and serve as a bridge between capture and proposal efforts.
    2. Develop and update marketing and communication materials.
    3. Support strategy development with target agencies and support Jefferson account managers in executing the strategies.
    4. Update trackers with relevant information for coordination across the Growth Office.
  • Association Management
    1. Subscribe to all Jefferson association memberships.
    2. Manage an "Associations" calendar, including adding Association events, who is attending from Jefferson, and key government attendees in the calendar entry.
    3. Review daily updates and newsletters to identify events relevant to Jefferson that we should attend.
    4. Circulate to relevant parties to make decisions on attendees.
    5. Attend events for networking as well as relevant opportunity information, document information, and share information with relevant parties.
    6. Update the Association tracker as required, including annual budgeting and expenditure tracking.
    7. Manage the awards process for identifying awards for which Jefferson should apply and supporting nomination submission requirements.
    8. Manage the Association folder to ensure knowledge is retained and accessible for business development opportunities.
    9. Update Association tracking document, including any corporate-wide accounts and passwords.
  • Capture Efforts and Process Management
    1. Plan and conduct primary and secondary research on opportunities.
    2. Execute efforts to either recommend advancing or eliminating opportunities from the pipeline.
    3. Schedule and prepare for capture events in accordance with the Strategic Business Development schedule.
    4. Coordinate in advance with non-BD team participants to ensure they are prepared for the schedule capture events.
    5. Develop Capture Deck slides for gate reviews.
    6. Participate in new business meetings to capture action items and distribute these after meetings.
  • Jefferson Business Consulting Support
    1. Support industry clients with market research and business development efforts as requested by the Jefferson Business Consulting Senior Vice President.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • At least three years of business development experience in the government contracting space.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter and motivated to identify and win new business
  • Completion of industry-standard training in capture and proposal management
