Position Highlights

The University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS) Clinical and Translational Sciences Research Center (CATS) is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator I to work closely with colleagues in a fast-paced environment. This position will offer ample opportunity to learn about the world of human subject clinical research. The position will work closely with the Sr. Manager, Clinical Research Lead and staff of the research center.

CATS provides concierge-level service to all UAHS investigators in support of human subjects clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team environment with a strong customer service focus and to play a part in facilitating the groundbreaking research occurring every day at the University of Arizona.

A successful candidate is responsible for assisting the principal investigator with study participant recruitment, informed consent, conducting study procedures, data collection and entry, specimen collection, processing and shipping and maintenance of study supplies and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in recruitment activities to meet enrollment goals.
  • Review medical history to Pre-Screen/Screen/Enroll study participants into clinical trials.
  • Interact with potential study participants to introduce the study and perform the informed consent process.
  • Coordinate, schedule and manage study visits.
  • Conduct study procedures such as blood draws, ECGs, and vital signs.
  • Collect study data and enter it into an electronic data capture system and maintain paper records.
  • Creating data collection documents as needed.
  • Collect study specimens such as blood, urine, etc., process, and ship to designated laboratories.
  • Maintaining study supply inventory and equipment.
  • Communication between study team and sponsors and vendors.
  • Participate in sponsors monitoring visits.
  • Maintain participant study binders.
  • Assist to maintain regulatory documents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different individuals/groups.
  • Attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Spanish proficiency
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Experience in a medical clinic setting
