The Data for Health (D4H) Gender Equity Unit is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and housed in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. D4H helps over 40 low- and middle-income countries collect better public health data, specifically strengthening and standardizing birth and death records and improving the impact of health data through policymaking and program development. The Gender Equity Unit focuses on supporting the integration of gender throughout all health data efforts within D4H and beyond.
The Unit is seeking a Research Program Coordinator to support research on gender disparities in death data. Specifically, the research will explore gender-based deaths and registration rates by working with partners to identify barriers and facilitators to death registration and accurate cause of death reporting. Other gender-related research topics may arise based on D4H partner needs.
The Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring timely progress of the deliverables across multiple countries by liaising with internal and external collaborators responsible for the deliverables. They will support the activities of the Unit through focused, organized, and timely maintenance of research projects. In all aspects of the work, the Research Coordinator is expected to ensure a collaborative, inclusive, and participatory approach with team members and diverse partners around the world to promote gender equity in health data. The Research Program Coordinator will be supervised by the principal investigator and co-investigators and will collaborate with the entire Gender Equity Unit team.
