We're seeking a future team member for the role of Global Tax Advisory. This role is located in Washington DC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Advises a broad array and/or more complex set of external investment services clients on compliance with tax regulations and the mitigation and monitoring of tax risk.
  • Monitors and researches tax regulations in assigned domiciles that cover a broad geographic span.
  • Analyzes and interprets tax research publications to evaluate potential impact on client tax rates and documentation requirements.
  • Researches market best practices related to tax reporting and compliance for specialized entities including those related to transaction taxes, withholding taxes, and statutory taxes. Presents findings to clients and recommends resulting compliance strategies.
  • Works with more complex clients and their attorneys and accountants to implement plans to mitigate tax risk.
  • Researches new client types to understand their tax requirements and the impact of taxes in all markets where they are invested. Presents findings to team leadership for incorporation into client presentations and recommendations.
  • Advises clients on how to best comply with new regulations and proactively addresses any potential issues.
  • Partners with Corporate Tax to monitor the regulatory landscape and may assist in developing recommendations for BNY Mellon's approach to regulatory changes. Implements resulting process changes.
  • No direct reports.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
  • Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Supports multiple, complex client accounts.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree J.D. law, accounting, tax degree, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • 7-10 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Experience in tax analysis and advisory preferred
