Job Description

The communications coordinator works in conjunction with the corporate communications department to meet the communications and pre-positioning goals of the organization. The coordinator requires a range of practical skills because of the varied requests anticipated with individual deadlines. Projects performed can vary day-to-day. Flexibility, creativity, attention to detail, and excellent time management are expected.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

    Assist corporate communications in identifying and writing content for press releases, blogs, trade publications, advertisements, and Dimensions. Ensure approved content is added or updated in job and employee records.
  • Support communications functions, including videos, announcements, and brochures.
  • Coordinate communications projects or campaigns as needed under the direction of the communications director or CCO.
  • Assist marketing and seller/doer staff with strategizing conferences/events; prepare marketing materials for conference/event, including e-marketing and social media; assist with promotion of speaking engagements.
  • Develop strong relationships with marketing and project management staff.
Required Skills & Required Experience

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Approximately 50% of the position's responsibilities involves writing.
  • Self-starter; enjoys and is able to work under minimal supervision, yet collaboratively with multiple disciplines and offices.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent quality control.
  • Serve as a Dewberry brand ambassador.

Experience:

  • Two to four years of experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of AP Style and English grammar.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and PowerPoint; Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, a plus. Familiarity with video editing, a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, or equivalent degree.

Candidates will be required to submit two to four writing samples, demonstrating ability to write press and marketing-related content.
