The Opportunity:

Mattel is seeking an Manager, Digital Marketing (Strategy Development) to drive global video strategies across Mattel's portfolio of brands and products. The position will work with the Senior Manager of Strategy Development, building and presenting multi-platform content plans for assigned categories of Business. This individual will elevate Mattel's digital and entertainment content offerings from an audience-first, platform-agnostic position. They will be an expert on global video platforms (YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video) and be able to strategically apply them to Mattel brands, creating impact and effectiveness across all levels of the digital marketing funnel. They will build data-rich strategies and leverage internal content teams (strategy execution, production, operations) to turn them into reality. This role will work cross-functionally with brand, markets, media, and production partners to ensure brand consistency and achievement of business goals. Strategies must create impact and effectiveness across all levels of the digital marketing funnel.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Build and present annual YouTube audience and multi-platform programming strategies for Mattel brand portfolio for assigned categories of business.
  • Represent IMC in cross-functional marketing stakeholder meetings to obtain consensus on development of annual, multi-year plans.
  • Represent Strategy team in meetings as needed with performance, insights as it relates to multi-year programming or audience strategies.
  • Partner with marketing creative to inform optimal creative strategy, best practices for annual plans.
  • Partner with marketing Account Management to communicate and obtain buy-in for strategies to cross-functional partners.
  • Hand-off strategy to "Execution" Strategists and Publishing for execution against assigned goals.
  • Perform and present independent analysis of competitor, audience, platform, and creative updates across broad OTT ecosystem.
  • Build partnerships with Mattel content teams (Mattel TV, Films, etc) to ensure strategies reflect full content calendar, find opportunities to support further, and remove structural inefficiencies.
  • Research platform trends (i.e. new social platform features), competitive performance across brands and user behavior (i.e. change in consumption patterns over time across certain demographics).
  • Develop and lead presentations about content expectations, performance, and audience insights, surfacing key learnings to internal partners that provide recommendations for creative and brand development, ensuring Mattel remains an industry leader in Kids Entertainment
  • Bi-annual alignment with legal to ensure platform strategy adheres to S&P, legal guidelines.

What We're Looking For:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
  • 8+years experience in digital marketing, brand marketing, content strategy and/or digital analytics.
  • Experience in the consumer internet and media industries, specifically YouTube content distribution landscape.
  • Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics (including CID) and Tubular Analytics experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of industry trends, platform trends and competitive positioning in the Kids and Family YouTube space.
  • Existing relationships with digital content platforms and media companies.
  • Current or previous YouTube certifications in audience development, content strategy, digital rights management, and monetization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to work closely with production, product, marketing, and brand teams.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively build partnership and influence stakeholder and decision making at all levels of a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to work independently toward assigned top-line goals
  • Ability to think critically about a situation and speak up to challenge the status quo
  • Experience with COPPA, CARU and GDPR.
  • Effective problem solving and analysis skills, and impeccable business judgment.
  • Demonstrated agrowth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves

The annual base salary range for this position is between $118,000 and $143,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
