We attract and retain highly skilled and dedicated staff by providing a work environment that is diverse, collaborative, respectful and collegial, and where professional growth is encouraged and nurtured.  The firm is seeking a Litigation Services Manager resident in our New York office to join Legal Support Services Management and oversee approximately 25 litigation case managers and legal assistants in our New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco offices.

Legal Support Services consists of over 150 billable staff members and is comprised of litigation and corporate legal assistants, discovery attorneys, corporate staff attorneys and litigation support. Each LSS group has their own manager. LSS management meets regularly and works as a team to manage and administer the entire LSS department. The ideal candidate is someone who seeks to form a long-term relationship with the firm, will become an integral member of management, is a subject matter expert in the litigation process, and has experience managing legal support staff. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Respond to matter teams for staffing and other support and guidance
  • Promulgate the use of LSS staff amongst associates, educate new attorneys about the value of LSS staff and how to engage them
  • Participate with defining and developing, and as appropriate leading, initiatives related to increased efficiency, including but not limited to how generative artificial intelligence will impact litigation and discovery
  • Coordinate coverage, provide support and share knowledge with LSS management and other members of firm administration
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding and developing new hires
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews, assist Director with determining salary adjustments and bonus recommendations
  • Review and monitor utilization and economics of group, identify areas for improvement or change
  • Provide input on department and firm policy

  • Minimum of eight years of large, complex litigation experience in a law firm or legal department
  • Extensive experience with litigation specific applications and processes
  • Proven record of managing others performance
