Position Summary:

The Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Program Coordinator reports to the Director of the HBCU Program and provides programmatic, administrative, and technical support to the HBCU Program, a program of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, as well as supports several key programmatic initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative and logistical aspects of HRCF's HBCU Program.
  • Collaborate on crafting the HBCU Program newsletter.
  • Assist in financial tasks such as expense reports, check requests, reimbursements, and budgeting.
  • Coordinate meetings for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle vendor and consultant administrative procedures.
  • Keep track of HBCU Program events and training through calendar management.
  • Address external inquiries concerning the HBCU Program and HRCF resources.
  • Create and update web and social media content for the HBCU Program.
  • Prepare reports and program updates for various stakeholders.
  • Arrange meetings with stakeholders and program advisory groups.
  • Assist in organizing and managing training initiatives.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with training-related service providers.
  • Monitor program email inboxes and provide prompt, accurate responses to inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years relevant experience required.
  • Experience in an administrative capacity is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML for website development a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong work ethic, and self-motivation demonstrated.
  • A can-do attitude is essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding organizational, task management, and time management skills required.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Adobe products and rapid e-learning software.
  • Personal interest in and commitment to LGBTQ+ rights, racial and gender justice required.

All positions at the Human Rights Campaign may require travel on a regular basis or periodically.?Where the need arises for business travel, appropriate compensation as outlined by the Fair Labor Standards Act will apply.
