Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Real Estate SME to remotely support a federal client. This individual will be responsible for analyzing and resolving complex real estate issues and providing expert guidance and hands-on support in real estate matters to support the client's mission. The real estate subject matter expert (RE SME) will conduct a wide range of real estate planning actions such as public records research, business case/alternatives analysis, stakeholder analysis, and budget/schedule development, and real estate clearance actions such as site permitting, leasing, licensing, and support of fee and easement acquisitions, in support of the client's infrastructure and technology construction, deployment and sustainment activities nationwide. The real estate SME will provide "full-time" support to a federal agency's program management offices headquartered in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

This position will serve as a real estate SME responsible for assisting a federal agency manage its real estate requirements/portfolio. The SME will evaluate client requirements and identify and execute the necessary real estate requirements. The SME will lead negotiations for land-use agreements such as leases, licenses and rights of entry from private landowners and permits from other government agencies, support real estate acquisition efforts, facilitate meetings to develop and execute appropriate real estate strategies, and perform other related duties.

Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 10+ years' experience in federal property real estate program support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team environment and an independent setting. A true team player who maintains a positive and supportive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Significant experience in the following areas:
    • Real estate research and analysis, including working with related documents such as maps, plans, surveys, legal descriptions, sales contracts, deeds, leases, licenses and permits.
    • Preparation of real estate action plans, decision briefs and progress reports, including related budget and schedule inputs.
    • Drafting, negotiation and tracking of land-use agreements such as sales contracts, leases, licenses, permits and rights of entry.
    • Working with related professionals such as project managers, environmental specialists, engineers, GIS specialists and real estate attorneys.
  • Proficiency with the following software tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Google Earth Pro, Acrobat Pro.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) training preferred but not required.
  • Moderate travel may be required.
