Position Description:
Monday Properties seeks a Painter to join our Property Management team. The successful candidate will handle all aspects of painting and plastering in commercial office properties. The position will be located in the Arlington, VA and DC area and will require close collaboration with the property managers and engineering staff of the company.  Responsibilities include: 
 

• Repair and prepare (scrape, spackle and tape) all surfaces to accept coatings and wall coverings
• Schedule time required for painting activities including estimating materials necessary to complete tasks
• Protect areas from dust, paint, and debris.
• Apply all primers and finish coatings in a proper manner with minimal clean-up
• Properly select and mix paint to existing coatings and apply wall coverings
• Submit reports on all work performed, make recommendations on the condition of wall coatings and coverings
• Keep accurate time sheets and work orders, respond to emergencies, ensure safe working conditions
• Maintain and order stock
• Coordinate clean-up

 Skills and Requirements:

• Eight years experience as journeyman in a commercial office building environment
• Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends when necessary
• Ability to work on ladder or scaffolding as necessary
• Ability to lift atleast 50 lbs
• Ability to walk entire portfolio (@3-5 miles a day) on a variety of surfaces such as concrete, pavement, dirt and grass; and ability to ascend and descend numerous stairways while performing tasks.
• Ability to communicate and to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to work cooperatively with others

• Considerable knowledge of industrial applications and appropriate coatings for metal and structures exposed to adverse weather and moisture conditions.
• Considerable knowledge of practices, tools, equipment and techniques associated with painting trade.
• Considerable knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in painting activities; ability to use and operate hand and power tools as needed in a safe, efficient manner.
• Considerable knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining to painting
• Computer literate
