Summary:
 
MicroStrategy, an international software firm is seeking a Collections Analyst to assist with our growing revenue and business needs.  This role is responsible for performing necessary research and follow-up to resolve problems that are causing a delay in payments from our customers.  This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with strong communications skills and great customer service skills to join a tight knit team.   So if you are seeking a role to enhance your previous customer service background with an upwardly mobile company and have at least two years of customer service or collections experience, follow the instructions below to apply.
 
Basic Function:
 
Work with MicroStrategy’s clients and internal staff  to receive timely payment of open invoicesbyresolving problems that are delaying payments by customersIn addition, this individual willensure ‘unapplied’ cash is cleared in a timely manner from receipt of paymentandprocessing write-offs where appropriate.
 
As a Collections Analyst your role will be to:
 
  • Contact via telephone or email client accounts in an assigned region
  • Resolve customer problems, ensure all appropriate parties are aware of their role, responsibility and deadlines
  • Document all communications with customers and internal personnel in JDEdwards collection module
  • Act in accordance with MSTR collection policies and procedures
  • Assist supervisor in preparation of weekly AR status report for management
  • Assist supervisor with Compass admin duties
  • Provide copies of invoices, current statement of account, payment remittance information and W-9 to the customer per their request
  • Ensure ‘unapplied’ cash is cleared in a timely manner from receipt of payment
  • Complete ad hoc tasks
 
Requirements for this role consist of the following:
 
The ideal candidate must possess:
 
  • College degree preferred, preferably with an accounting or finance major
  • At least two years of collections or customer service experience
  • Strong communication skills – excellent oral and written skills, professional telephone manner required
 
Additional skills include:
 
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)
  • Must have the ability to independently analyze, research and solve problems typically involving multiple parties
  • Must be detailed oriented with the ability to manage multiple activities effectively
  • Experience with ERP accounting and collection systems – preferably JDEdwards – would be a plus
